Ceramic infrared heaters
Ceramic infrared heaters are the heating elements made of high fire-proof ceramic material covered with ceramic glaze. Inside the heater’s body resistant heating coil is immersed. Principle of operation of infrared heaters is temperature radiation which consists in absorption and conversion of radiation energy that falls on heating up objects into heat. Depending on element’s rated power, they emit electromagnetic wave with length from 2 to 10 µm.
Those heating elements are widespread in plastic, food and paper industry, in medical applications, in surface treatment technology and many more. Ceramic infrared heaters are unique because of their high corrosion-resisting, resistance in aggressive environments, sterility (very desired feature in medical applications and food industry), possibility of steering its work (by using of thermocouples), low thermal inertia.
